How to Share the Truth With Others

A great tool to help you share the Truth of
The Gospel with others:

The "Bridge" Illustration

“And He struck down some of the men of Beth-shemesh because they had looked into the art of the Lord.  He struck down of all the people, 50,070 men, and the people mourned because the Lord had struck the people with a great slaughter.

“And the men of Beth-shemesh said, ‘Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God?  And to whom shall He go up from us?’  So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, ‘The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord; come down and take it up to you.’” I Samuel 6:19-21

Hannah, who bore Samuel, the Judge at this time, had sung a song of sovereignty and might, dedicated in thanksgiving to the Lord.  Samuel entered the priesthood and it was apparent he was chosen by God to serve him.

The two priests of God had become greedy and disrespectful of their office at the time, and their father indulged them.  But God was not amused and let it be known that the three of them would lose their life as they forgot what their lives were to be focused on.

The Philistines came and captured the most prized possession of the Israelites and took it back to their lands and disrespected it greatly, even looking inside this sacred box.  God punished them until they brought it back and left it sitting on a rock and told the Israelites to come get it.  Then the Philistines tried to use this as a time to ambush the Israelites, but God won the day and sent them off.

It is easy enough to say that God is sovereign, all powerful, all knowing and all wise.  It is another thing to believe it enough to change your life to live as if you believe it!

In the end, God has the final judgment.  If someone has not claimed the gracious gift of Jesus Christ, they have no hope for the future.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
